You're not Alone!

Congratulations! This is by far, the smartest thing you can do to eliminate debt or find debt relief.

A professional will definitely head you in the right direction to becoming debt free.

  Here's my story. I was heavily in credit card debt. I tried applying for new cards to get the zero percent interest rates. After a while I had so much debt, that they started refusing to give me more credit. To make things worse, I was late on some payments, which caused my minimum payment to sky-rocket. I had no choice but to find a debt counsellor.

  The gentleman I spoke with was more than happy to help me out (guess they get paid on commission). I was skeptical to go through with it at first because I didn't know what ramifications would come about from doing this.
  
  I had several questions like... will it affect my credit? is bankruptcy a better option? how in the world would a credit card company agree to give me credit relief?
  
  The credit agent told me that he deals with this day-in and day-out. My concerns are normal and most everyone has the same questions.
  
  He just flat out said... "the credit companies would rather get something, rather than NOTHING!" If you stop and think about it, it makes sense. As an example, pretend you were starving and had nothing to eat. You see a person walking down the street with a slice of pizza. They notice you eyeing the pizza and ask if you would like some. The person says "I don't have any money left to buy another slice for you, but I could cut a piece of it off for you to eat". Some is better than NOTHING right?
  
  It's the credit counsellors job to point this out to you. By reducing your debt, they factor in their payment once the credit company determines how much of your debt to forgive.
  
  After all, your next logical step is to stop paying all together or file for bankruptcy.
  
  The only one who really makes out is the credit agent providing or the debt counselling service. But it in the long run, it doesn't matter. You get a manageable payment plan, the creditor's get some of their money back (plus a tax write-off), and the counsellor gets their cut.
  
  A debt counsellor can surely help you with your debt problem. Whether your credit card payments are too high and you don't have enough money left over to pay for necessities or you've lost your source of income.
• Give a financial counselling service a try. Most give free consultations and you are under no obligation to accept their service.
• For your convenience, I've listed the debt service company I used and some of the other ones I received quotes from.
  
  You'll be surprised as to how much you will learn by simply asking questions. Remember, they've pretty much heard all the issues before. It's their job to reduce your debt as best they can.
• After all, if they don't, you can simply take your business elsewhere. But you need to know what your options are from a few companies before you start haggling.
